RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING
18+ ONLY. GAMBLING INVOLVES RISK.
Gambling should be entertainment. If it stops being fun or starts causing problems, it is time to stop. The house always has an edge. Over time, the math works against you.
KNOW THE ODDS
Every casino game has a house edge. Slots typically range from 2% to 10%. Blackjack with perfect strategy is around 0.5%. Roulette is 2.7% for European, 5.26% for American.
This means if you bet $100,000 total on a slot with 5% house edge, you will lose $5,000 on average. Individual sessions have variance, but the math catches up.
Bonuses can reduce the effective house edge temporarily, but wagering requirements often negate this. A 100% bonus with 40x wagering still favors the house.
WARNING SIGNS
- Chasing losses. Depositing more to win back what you lost.
- Gambling with money you need for bills, rent, or food.
- Lying to family or friends about gambling.
- Feeling anxious or irritable when not gambling.
- Neglecting work, relationships, or responsibilities to gamble.
- Borrowing money or selling things to fund gambling.
- Unable to stop despite wanting to.
If any of these apply, consider taking a break and talking to someone.
SELF-EXCLUSION TOOLS
Most casinos offer self-exclusion options. You can block yourself from the site for days, weeks, months, or permanently. Use these if you need a break.
Some third-party tools can block gambling sites at the device level:
- - Gamban: Blocks access to gambling sites across all your devices.
- - BetBlocker: Free app that blocks gambling content.
- - GamStop: UK self-exclusion scheme for licensed operators.
SETTING LIMITS
DEPOSIT LIMITS
Set daily, weekly, or monthly deposit limits at the casino. Once hit, you cannot deposit more until the period resets.
LOSS LIMITS
Decide before you play how much you are willing to lose. When you hit that number, stop. No exceptions.
TIME LIMITS
Set a timer. When it goes off, you are done for the day. Losing track of time is common when gambling.
SEPARATE FUNDS
Keep gambling money separate from everyday funds. Only use what you have explicitly set aside for gambling.
