Ethereum Gas Fees Drop to 2-Year Low, Casino Deposits Get Cheaper

Ethereum gas fees dropped below 5 gwei this week. That is the lowest since early 2024. A standard ETH transfer now costs under $0.50. ERC-20 token transfers like USDT or USDC run about $1-2.

Why It Matters

1. Layer 2 adoption pulled a lot of activity off mainnet Ethereum. Arbitrum and Base handle the bulk of DeFi transactions now.
2. The Dencun upgrade from 2024 continues to reduce blob costs, and the recent Pectra upgrade further optimized execution layer efficiency.

Less competition for block space means cheaper transactions for everyone still using mainnet.
